I am going to complie a list of fish that eat algae in the tank.

Ottos
Plecos
Siamese algae eaters
Ameca splendens
Jordanella floridae

There must be hundreds more. Can you name some?

Algae is caused by excessive light and too many nutrients in the water. Adding more fish can make the problem worse not better.

Otos are good because they are so small... basically you are not really increasing the biological load too much (you would be with a pleco for example)

Better to do more water changes, add more plants, reduce feeding or have less fish!

Obviously having less sunlight too

But back to the point, most suckermouth catfish eat algae - bristlenoses are my favourite, also pekolita pulcher (another one that stays small)
